In 2007, voluntary organisations and public authorities in North Sheffield, West Barnsley, Denby Dale and Kirkburton came together to form the East Peak Innovation Partnership (EPIP), and has now secured funding from the Rural Development Programme for England LEADER programme.
The LEADER programme is a bottom up, multi-sector partnership approach, linking together and integrating rural developments. With a project budget of £2.4 million until 2014, EPIP will deliver outcomes relating to basic services for the economy and rural population, village renewal and development , and conservation and upgrading of rural heritage.
