Our Client are a leading Engineering Company who due to a new vacancy being created require a TECHNICAL ASSISTANT/DESIGN ASSISTANT.
To provide technical support for all areas of the company, as well as our worldwide agency network. Ensure that all the day-to-day technical documents are completed and issued. Get involved in process improvements and the re-drawing of all our drawing register in SolidWorks. Provide technical support for our customers including problem solving, documentation clarification and the occasional on site visit.
KEY FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
•Provide the routine processing support for systems and spares orders
•Have a disciplined and methodical approach to ensure accuracy and timely release of information to meet manufacturing start dates
•Ensure all orders received by the company receive the appropriate review to ensure that the correct job cards, drawings, manuals and production instructions are issued to meet the customers requirements
•Have a working knowledge of engineering drawings, competency with AutoCAD preferred and experience of 3-D applications
•Provide new design solutions, complete with full manufacturing information, drawings.
•Ensure accuracy and adherence to engineering disciplines/standards – drawing control, drawing detail for manufacturing, system BOMs/Opera, and job cards
•Ensure that the CA database and drawing register is up to date and well maintained
•Deal with Class Approval Societies regarding approval of equipment
•Provide the routine technical support to assist with specific warranty/service issues, technical advice (both internal and with customers/agents) and production queries
•As projects will be international in nature it may be necessary for the job holder to travel and to work away from his/her base for periods of time as required
