Hays Social Care has an excellent opportunity for Support Workers to work with Adults with Learning Disabilities in the beautiful surroundings of Hesley Village near Doncaster, South Yorkshire. The grounds offer an excellent range of sports and leisure facilities to support those with special needs as well as free car parking and a range of benefits that make Hesley a great place to work.
As a Support Worker you will require a minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or similar care related subject, plus Moving and Handling, First Aid and Food Hygiene training. Some Adult Protection training would be preferable although is not essential. You should also have a proven ability of working with service users with challenging behaviour and Learning Disabilities.
Our students and residents need support workers to help with everyday tasks such as cleaning and cooking, visiting the hairdresser, pursuing their hobbies and socialising in the wider community. Thanks to your patience, care and understanding, you can help them learn and practice these skills, raising their self-esteem and enabling them to enjoy a more independent lifestyle.
This role is a temporary position for six months, with opportunities available to become permanent. Shift work is available for both morning and nights. There is also a bus route direct from Doncaster station providing easy access to this location. Whilst working through us you'll receive competitive rates of social worker pay and £100 Referral Bonus for each friend / colleague you refer to us, plus a £50 bonus for the person nominated.
