    Plant Engineer-£35 HOUR WEEK Working only Monday-Thursday!!!!


    PURPOSE OF ROLE:

    Reporting to the local Manager, the Plant Engineer is responsible for ensuring all plant, machinery and equipment is both serviced and maintained in line with best maintenance practice, to ensure continuous production availability.
    In addition, a key part of the role is to contribute to improvements in process methods, product design and waste elimination programmes.


    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    •To ensure plant, machinery and equipment is both serviced and maintained in line with production schedules and requirements.

    •To minimise the loss of plant utilisation by ensuring plant, machinery and equipment operates both efficiently and within required safety requirements.

    •To establish, implement and maintain a preventative maintenance programme for all plant, machinery and equipment.

    •To record and log any maintenance or repair.

    •To liaise and assist in the selection and implementation of new plant and layout as required.

    •To identify and agree the spares and ancillary plant, jigs and fixtures, stocking policy.

    •To identify any calibration requirements, record and maintain within the control system.

    •To conduct basic plant maintenance and repair of heating, lighting or building etc. subject to appropriate skill criteria/legislation.

    •To liaise with site staff, ensuring technical input, if relevant, is provided into problem solving and or improvement activities, and prototype development and manufacture.


    PERSON PROFILE:

    •A minimum of 10 years relevant work experience

    A good engineering qualification required

    •City & Guilds qualification, or equivalent inan electrical/electronic discipline..

    •Sound working knowledge of Health & Safety and environmental requirements.

    •Sound working knowledge of best maintenance practice.

    •A proactive self starter who can work under pressure and own initiative.

    •Good level of computer literacy

    •Experience in CNC based manufacturing processes
