Our client the NHS in Barnsley is looking to recruit a temporary ICT Contractor.
This specialist post in the Information Communication Department is primarily responsible for providing the procurement, acceptance testing, maintenance, repair, configuration and disposal of all ICT systems, i.e. Desktop solutions, servers, networking and telecoms infrastructure in Trust. The post holder is required to work to high standards of safety and accountability to ensure all ICT related services operate effectively with the minimum risk of downtime.
The post holder will also act as lead ICT engineer for specialist projects for design, installation, repair, and maintenance of highly specialised ICT systems i.e. Clinical, Acute, Administrative and Financial areas.
The post holder liaises with service user and technical staff to identify complex faults and repair equipment and systems working with manufacturers and their agents as appropriate.
Criteria
Professional knowledge of Information and Communication Technology acquired through a minimum of HNC /HND;
Previous experience in an ICT support environment; Plus able to deliver specialist ICT technical services as a result of specialist knowledge acquired through training courses both theoretical and practical.
Conversant with current NHS operating systems including Windows,UNIX,VMS and Netware, and specialist NHS applications such as PAS, Sunquest, NIMIS, T-Dock, Ascribe - Desirable
Understand the fundamentals of TCP/IP
Ability to manage and support Network and Telecommunication systems.
Ability to communicate at all levels with staff and other professionals.
Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team.
Ability to deal effectively with conflicting priorities while remaining calm.
Ability to respond to unpredictable work patterns and demands.
Ability to organise and delegate.
Be adaptive, imaginative, innovative, pro-active and enthusiastic.
Possess excellent organisational skills.
Possess a full UK Driving License and have use of a car.
