This specialist engineering products company based in Doncaster are looking for a Product Manager to join their team. Together with the Product Management Director you will formulate strategies and agree objectives and targets for the product range with regards to:
¢ Sales and profit growth
¢ Market penetration / market share
¢ Product mix
¢ Distribution channels
¢ Stock turn
You will identify new product and market opportunities within the product range, and specify and document product and market opportunities. The role involves bringing new products to market once they have been developed and released by R & D. You will propose, execute and monitor pricing and discounting of existing products as well as new products, forecast sales of existing and of new products and liaise with purchasing to ensure availability.
You will also manage stock turn, propose and implement corrective action where stock turn targets are not being met. You will manage profitability and implement corrective actions where sales, growth or profit targets are not being achieved, as well as tracking product cycles and implement corrective actions where needed to extend or modify cycles. You will identify the need for product additions, deletions, improvements or introductions. You will have overall responsibility for the growth, profit growth and target achievement of the product range. This role will also involve close communication and liaision with other departments.
You should have an engineering qualification, preferable to degree level or equivalent, with a proven track record in product management of industrial products or a qualification in product management with experience in product management in industry, and ideally consumable industrial products.
