Position: ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICER
Location: Bradford
Salary: £25k+pension
Job Details:
Our client is a world wide manufacturer of specialist automotive components are currently looking to recruit an Environmental Officer.
This is an excellent opportunity for progression within the role being the singular individual within the position.
Candidates must have worked and implemented the EN14001 into a manufacturing/Industrial organisation.
The appointment of the Environmental Officer will have responsibility for the implementation, and subsequent maintenance, of an EN14001 certified Environmental Management System at the site.
The Environmental Officer will report directly to the Group Technical Manager.
Duties and targets include:
Assess the companys Environmental Aspects and their impact upon the environment
Reduce the incidence of waste and pollutants, and reduce the usage of materials and energy
Increase the use of recyclable and renewable resources
Reduce risks to employees and others arising from the processes and activities undertaken by the company
Foster environmental awareness and understanding throughout the company
Work closely with the H&S Officer and Managers throughout the organisation to achieve the companys environmental objectives
Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory requirements
Integrate the environmental management system with the companys Quality and Occupational Health and Safety management systems, wherever possible
Liaise with all relevant parties including the Environment Agency, Local Authority, external assessors, and all external stakeholders in the business
Personal Skills required for this position:
Must have a proven track record in the implementation and maintenance of an EN14001 system within a similar manufacturing organisation.
Working along side the H&S Officer you will be expected to fully implement the new system. A sound understanding of EN14001 and its requirements.
Formal environmental qualifications and/or the following skills:
Process auditing Risk/Impact assessment, Problem solving techniques, REACH management Continuous improvement.
Experience of other management systems (e.g. Quality or H&S) would be advantageous.
Salary: £25k depending on experience.

Total hours: 39 per week (although additional hours may be required from time to time)
