Process Engineer, Central Branch (South Normanton/Selby)
Ideal candidates for the position of Process Engineer will have a good degree in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering with significant and relevant experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
Boiler thermal, hydraulic and metal temperature calculations and arrangement of furnace and boiler heating surfaces;
Generation of PFDs, operating philosophies and P&IDs for boiler island scope of supply together with an understanding of overall H&MB and process integration for the overall power plant.
Specification of process design parameters for main boiler island equipment including pumps, fans, burners, mills, air heaters and other BoP items as appropriate within the boiler island scope for utility power plant.

Boiler plant equipment requirement and arrangement;
Boiler plant operation and control;
Application of :
Thermal performance design rules / calculations to produce compliant furnace and convective surface furnace designs;
Fluid dynamics design rules / calculations to produce compliant boiler water / steam system designs;
Fluid dynamics design rules / calculations to produce compliant flue and duct system designs;
Fluid dynamics design rules / calculations to produce compliant ancillary system designs;
International design codes to produce compliant designs.

Key Accountabilities :
To ensure that the PFDs identify process flow data at key points within the plant;
To ensure that the PFDs identify process flow data at key points within the plant and at all terminal points within and at the limits of plant supply;
To ensure that the P&IDs incorporate the required instrumentation for input to the various plant control loops;
To ensure that the P&IDs incorporate necessary modulating and regulating devices that the various control loops require for safe and efficient operation of the plant;
