Our client has been established since 1970, and specialises in mechanical and structural applications for railway signalling and other projects.
Due to their continued success our client are currently seeking to recruit a Design Engineer (Structural and Civil) to join their busy Technical Department
Main Duties
· To work both independently and as part of a team.
· Site surveys and measurements.
· Liaise with company personnel with regard to engineering specifications, drawing queries, design briefs, project engineering.
· Production of design calculations to resolve engineering problems relating to the company's products and services.
· Structural and civil analysis to determine member sizes, configurations and foundation loadings for company products.
· Geotechnical solutions for the support of steel structures.
· Liaise with colleagues to determine engineering solutions.
· Liaise with colleagues to convey and ensure design solutions are carried out.
· Liaise with clients, their representatives, consultants, suppliers and subcontracts in order to convey design information, receive and interpret data and solve any problems relating to company products and services.
The ideal candidate should be educated to a minimum of Degree level, applicants should be fully conversant with AutoCAD, and preferably have structural steelwork experience. Applicants will be expected to work under minimum supervision to a high degree of accuracy.
Excellent knowledge of English Language and grammar essential.
