Our client a major Public Sector body has the requirement for a proactive and effective Case Holder to join their Youth Offending Team on a fixed term contract; this will run until August 2008 with the possibility of a contract extension.
The Successful candidate will take responsibility within the youth offending team, for the supervision of Children and Young people subject to Court Orders or Final Warnings. You will implement and present reports to Youth panels and Courts on Children and Young Persons made subject to Statutory Orders, attend Youth Panel meetings and present recommendations to the Panel concerning the Child/Young Person, the range of intervention programmes available and the candidate's suitability.
Successful candidates will have working experience of assessments which cover criminal justice and the treatment of Children and Young People. You will have a creative ability and imagination to deliver policies with enthusiasm. A good understanding of relevant criminal justice legislation and it's relation to Young People, knowledge of the Children's Act 1989 and any other relevant legislation such as knowledge of The Crime and Disorder Act 1999.
You will be IT literate and comfortable in dealing with database packages.
