We are currently looking for a Payroll and Accounts Clerk to complement our busy Accounts team. As you might expect, you’ll perform a variety of tasks and will be responsible for administering and processing Group payrolls, checking expense claims and supporting other members within the Processing Team.
You will be required to accurately maintain payroll records for our 525 employees and answer a variety of queries. Attention to detail will be essential as you will have responsibility for preparing payments of deductions such as pensions contibutions, PAYE/NIC and GAYE. Other responsibilities will include preparing and posting payroll cost journals to the nominal ledger and reconciling all relevant control accounts at each period end, as well as checking and processing electronic expense claims to ensure compliance with company policy.
With your in-depth knowledge of payroll processing, preferably computerised, you’ll need to be a highly effective administrator with excellent communication skills, as this role will involve liaising with internal and external customers.
It’s also important that you have a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience of working with Excel spreadsheets.
