South Yorkshire Police is the thirteenth largest of the 44 Police Forces within England, Wales and Northern Ireland, policing Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield covering 600 square miles.
The Force is headed by Chief Constable Meredydd Hughes who leads 3,413 police officers this is 79 more than last year, over 2000 police staff and 125 Special Constables and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) which has doubled last years numbers.
The Senior Command Team comprises the Chief Constable, the Deputy Chief Constable, three Assistant Chief Constables and the Director of Finance and Administration. Together this team has the responsibility for the strategic direction and control of the force.
South Yorkshire Police are looking for 3 Procurement Managers to join their fast paced team, you will need to be MCIPS and have previous experience of procurement in the public, voluntary or private sector with good knowledge of project management. Your main duties will involve providing a comprehensive procurement information service to the South Yorkshire Police Force, ensuring that all procedures, including Financial Regulations and appropriate legislation e.g. Supplies/Directives relating to purchasing are complied with. To research markets and review procedures to keep current with new developments whilst coordinating the management of centrally negotiated contracts conforming to specifications.
