Title: Setting out engineer
Reports to: Site / Project Manager
Job Specification
· Our client requires a setting out engineer for a commercial new-build project in chesterfield, Derbyshire. This role is a little different to most as the client only requires an engineer on a part time basis assisting the site and project managers with the initial setting out phase of the site.
· Hours will range between 20 to 40 hours per week and this is expected to be a long-term position with the ideal candidate possibly being utilised by the company on various other on-going sites.
Skills needed:
· Interpreting setting out data in order to carry out setting out accurately
· Reading drawings accurately and correctly
· Taking information from drawings and ordering materials correctly
· Filling out quality record sheets
· Communicating with skilled workforce on site to ensure understanding of what is required
· Keeping daily records and site diary of work carried out
· Able to produce time sheets
· Able to work under own supervision
· Ensure work on site is being carried out to H & S recognised standards.
· As an experienced Site Engineer/Setting Out you will be familiar with:
· Total station
· EDM
· Dumpy levels
· The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years experience working on earthworks, foundations, kerbs and drainage.

· Able to communicate effectively
