£18.19 per hour working in Barnsley for 37 Hours per week - Approx £35K p.a. pro rata until the end of November.
Purpose of Post:
To Manage the performance & business development activity of the Asset Management section, including production of the monthly performance reports, the development of business improvement initiatives, management of the asset management support services, assisting the Asset Manager in the management of the repairs and maintenance budget and delivery of a first class asset management service.
Key Areas:
To be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of the Asset Management Administrators, the Performance & Information Officer and the Senior Asset Management Administrator and Performance Co-ordinator.
To be responsible for the delivery and implementation of new business initiatives, including developments in internal processes and procedures, any IT developments and other initiatives recommended by Berneslai Homes, Council or government initiatives relating to the asset management service.
To assist the Asset Manager in the provision of a high quality effective and economic asset management service in respect of the housing stock, such as to ensure optimisation of available resources and enable all performance and financial targets to be met, in a culture of continuous improvement
Duties and Responsibilities:
To be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of the Asset Management Administrators, the Performance & Information Officer and the Senior Asset Management Administrator.
To monitor and co-ordinate the workload of the Asset Management Administrators to ensure the Asset Manager, the Performance and Development team, the Mechanical Services team (as required) and the Planned Maintenance team have sufficient administrative support.
To be responsible for the delivery and implementation of new business initiatives, including developments in internal processes and procedures, any IT developments and other initiatives recommended Berneslai Homes, Council or government initiatives relating to the asset management service.
To demonstrate and promote business or procedural changes, including formal presentations to staff and members of the public as and when required.
To assist the Asset Manager in the provision of a high quality effective and economic asset management service in respect of the housing stock, such as to ensure optimisation of available resources and enable all performance and financial targets to be met, in a culture of continuous improvement.
To work closely with all organisations involved in Housing Stock Maintenance to review processes and working practices and agree and instigate actions to improve performance.
To play a key role in IT development including identification and implementation of systems and software and instigation of reports relating to business development.
To play a key role in producing guidance notes for the Partnering Arrangement and the delivery of the whole Stock Maintenance programme.
To be proactive in promoting and developing innovative initiatives in relation to the principles of “Rethinking Construction”.
To work closely with all organisations involved in Housing Stock Maintenance to develop the Supply Chain involving contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers and consultants.
To work closely with the Asset Manager to develop the most effective business solutions for dealing with additional funding.
To liaise with the Complaints Manager to identify service improvements which can be implemented from issues arising through the complaints process.
To contribute to the work involved in carrying out “Best Value” reviews of the Maintenance Service and of the Housing Management Service.
To ensure compliance with all appropriate health and safety requirements and EU Directives.
To manage and motivate a team of performance and administrative staff to enable both personal development and business targets to be achieved.
To formulate and conduct staff training events in relation to business and procedural changes or improvements.
And any other duties commensurate with the grade and falling within the scope of the post, as requested by management.
You must have around five years experience managing staff in an office environment, preferably with the social housing sector.

Five years experience of working within a business development environment with membership of a Housing/Constrution related body
