Full Description:
We are looking for an experienced storesperson to join our small but dedicated team who assemble our product range, which mainly consists of seating and standing products for children with special needs.

You would also be responsible for purchasing and re-buying goods and product parts for the organisation. You would be instrumental in setting up a Kan Ban system and working to JIT objectives.

Job Specification

  • Collecting components and replenishing departments parts requirements

  • Manage the computerised ‘lean lift’ system/automated storage

  • Inventory management – managing stock levels

  • Ensure goods are booked in and out of the system are properly recorded

  • Ensure shelf life records are accurately maintained and managed

  • Negotiation with suppliers

  • Re-buying of goods and product components


Person Specification

Essential

  • Previous Stores experience, preferably in a similar role

  • Familiar with Kan Ban Systems

  • Experience of JIT procedures

  • Able to work efficiently and accurately

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Good team player and also able to work independently

  • Able to work to deadlines

  • Able to cope with heavy lifting

  • Keen to learn new things

  • Flexible attitude to work

  • Fluent in English

  • Good sense of humour

  • Excellent computer skills


Desireable

  • Full UK driving licence (car)

  • Previous buying experience within a manufacturing environment


Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, 7.30-3.30 Monday to Friday
