PURCHASING & PLANNING CO-ORDINATOR

Our Client is a specialist of products which are sold primarily into the oil and gas industry.

The Role

In conjunction with the Purchasing Manager develop and sustain strategic purchasing plans ensuring all current and future relevant production plans and sales targets are achieved.
Provide reports / information to the management team as and when required.
Assist in the maintenance of the supplier data base.
Assists in identifying potential new suppliers and the developing of existing and future working relationships.
In conjunction with the Production manager sustain performance KPIs on all suppliers and instigate recovery plans on any none performing suppliers.
Ensure effective regular communication with suppliers on delivery performance, documentation, quality etc.
Investigate suppliers for non-stocked materials and forms to enable Sales to answer enquiries, including establishing price and delivery lead times.
Investigate suppliers for new materials and forms to add to our range of regular purchases.
Effectively manage the scrapping of test pieces, obsolete and unusable stock.
Raising purchase orders on suppliers.
Ensure incoming material complies with the ordered requirements.
Assist in the monitoring of stock and re-order levels as necessary with a view to achieving Budgeted targets.
Look at ways to continuously improve the internal system of raising purchasing orders in conjunction with Sales and Quality.
Assist in the implementation and management of the Stock take procedures with a view to improving material accuracy in terms of location, weight, length, specification etc.
Responsible for the calculating weight loses, subcontract charges and duty posts updating job cards accordingly.
The daily maintenance and updating of the off cut variance report.
Look at ways to improve slow moving stock in line with budgeted targets.
