Site Engineer
£16,000 starting salary, rising to £18,000 pa

Job Role…

The main purpose of the role is to undertake and complete installation, repairs and maintenance to all systems on all of the company’s sites to ensure the smooth running of the network. Other duties will include providing technical support to customers on site, diagnosing and completing on site repairs / installation work / maintenance on customers systems/networks, liaising with Second Line Support and Open Source Technologies in diagnosing and repairing faults, completing relevant documentation, to take authority from the OM, CCM and TSM (In the absence of the ESM), undertake successful repairs, adapting to flexible prioritisation and additional complications created by 3rd parties and managing time / resource constraints.

The Successful Candidate…

Will need to be a hardworking, motivated individual, who is comfortable working at heights, is able to differentiate colours used in Cat5/6 and power cabling, is comfortable with handling heavy weights and who can adhere to our client’s core standards. In terms of the technical skills required for the role, it is essential that candidates have an understanding of LAN and WAN networks including VLANs and security, configuration an understanding of servers and network switches and diagnostics / troubleshooting, an understanding of Cat5/6 and Fibre operations as well as physical maintenance / installation of equipment. You will also need to have an understanding of standard Operating systems and posses competent DIY & practical skills. A full UK driving licence is essential to the role as are strong communication and customer service skills, the ability to demonstrate strong leadership, problem analysis and teamwork skills as well as being able to work to your own initiative.
