Full Description:
Chamber Events is one of our core commercial services. The Events Team organises over 80 events per year, ranging from small workshops through to the annual awards dinner for over 1000 guests, attended by businesses from across the region.
We are now looking for an Events Team Leader to lead and motivate the Events Co-ordinators, ensuring effective delivery of the Chamber of Commerce events programme, and to work closely with the Head of Business Development to develop new business opportunities for ad-hoc external event delivery.
The successful candidate will be actively involved in the entire life cycle of events, from identification through planning and promotion to delivery, and so will need to be an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with proven events experience, incorporating a strong emphasis on service and customer care, and a proven track record of event delivery and achievement of income targets.
We need a creative thinker with an outgoing personality, a flexible working attitude, and a proactive approach to client engagement. Strong commercial and budgetary skills are essential to ensure accurate costing analysis records to be maintained.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, will enable you to provide the wording for events’ promotional material, effectively write and present monthly department performance reports and reports on the evaluation and effectiveness of events and to formulate, write and implement partnership delivery contracts and effective sales proposals.
Effective networking and negotiation skills will help you to establish a network of contacts to promote business opportunities and develop external partnerships with a view to securing event sponsorship income and organising mutually beneficial events.
You must be IT literate and have a full, clean driving licence.
This position is permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week). As well as operating a flexible working policy, Sheffield Chamber offers generous holidays plus statutory Bank Holidays, a contributory pension scheme, and Westfield Contributory Health Scheme membership.
Application is by Application Form only. CVs will not be accepted.
Closing date for completed applications is 14th April 2008.
If you have not heard from us within 2 weeks of the closing date, you may assume that your application has, on this occasion, been unsuccessful.
