Job Description
RISK MANAGER
My client a construction and property consultancy specialising in risk management and project management. They are looking to build upon the progress made to date by recruiting a forward thinking individual to join the company in this important role.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Management and operation of consistent risk processes to required company standards, guidelines and systems for capital spend risk management
- Ensuring that the business unit operates in accordance with company processes and the Large Capital Project Governance Framework
- Operating and maintaining a risk management process in accordance with the Capital Project Governance Framework
- Overseeing the production and maintenance of accurate project and business unit risk review schedules, ensuring buy in and input of key project disciplines and stakeholders
- Providing monthly project risk reports
- Assisting project teams in planning and implementing any appropriate risk management control strategy
- Establishing and maintaining a good working relationship with other business units within the organisation and providing support as necessary to the Risk Manager
.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience operating within and leading a project risk team relating to large capital project portfolio management or equivalent business operation
- A proven understanding of risk identification, control, mitigation and response techniques
- A professional qualification in or equivalent experience in risk management
- Experience of working on multi-million pound project delivery in the utility, power or an asset intensive engineering environment/industry demonstrating knowledge of the project lifecycle
- The ability to identify and implement innovative and effective business improvements
- To assist in taking forward a bespoke internet based risk management system
- To be a member of the Institute of Risk Management
You must be adaptable, self motivated and flexible as you will be required to work away from base location. A full driving licence is required.
Successful candidates will be subject to the Company's verification and vetting process which includes a basic criminal record check.
