Job Description
Stock Controller
Background
Our client is a growing construction supplies company who seek to appoint an individual who can assist in setting up and formulating a workable stock control system linked to existing purchase and sales procedures. The site is well maintained and ready for further growth and the post will suit an experience individual who enjoys responsibility and having input into how things can move forward. Based in Sheffield the role will report to the Director and you will fulfil a hands on role involving the activities laid out as follows

Overview:
To perform all activities involved in receiving, verifying, locating, picking, computer updating and dispatching stock in all storage facilities and areas of the business.
Responsibilities:
* To ensure all items received into the Company via Goods Inwards are correctly and accurately receipted and procedure level adhered to.
* To accurately and efficiently pick all feeds.
* To move stock safely and timely throughout the various areas of the business.
* To safely load and unload vehicles as required.
* To assist in the operation of the electronic stock control system by cycle counting stock as required, and any other stock count related activities.
* To ensure all product related items received and picked, have been identified by use of labelling.
* To maintain the stock control systems by accurately issuing material and highlighting stock discrepancies.
* To adhere to the principles of (First In First Out), or as otherwise instructed, in all stores activities.
* To help maintain good order and cleanliness in the warehouse and yard environment.
* To ensure that the quality of stock handled or stored is maintained and to take necessary repacking or other corrective actions as required.
* To participate in quality improvements throughout the business as assigned.
* To ensure returnable packaging is collated, weighed, measured, identified and returned to the designated supplier, in accordance with the control document
Educational Background, Skills and Knowledge.
Previous background of working within an electronically stock controlled environment.
Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Lotus Notes an advantage.
Demonstrate an ability to work with the minimum of supervision.
Good level of numeracy
Current Forklift Licence is essential
