Job Description

Currently seeking a Technical Manager to join a leading manufacturing company based in Sheffield. The role involves day to day management and motivation of a technical department consisting of Electronics and Software Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineers and a Mechanical Development Engineer. Other tasks such as estimating product materials, assembly labour, tooling and other various non-recurring engineering costs must also be controlled and managed as part of the feasibility study when developing new systems. Additionally, the department is responsible for developing product documentation such as product manuals, assembly instructions, component drawings, bill-of-material etc.

In addition to management responsibilities, the role also involves hands-on electronic and software design for new and existing products. In particular, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate success in designing microcontroller based control systems including electronic circuit design, PCB layout and software development using C for embedded systems and C# for developing user interfaces for complex, Modbus and Ethernet networked systems.
