This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive national medical research charity based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire on the edge of the Peak District National Park. The charity is the fourth largest medical research charity in the UK and receives millions of pounds each year to fund research and education.

The main purpose of the job role is to check and process applications, ensuring all information is recorded in a timely, accurate manner. You will arrange meetings and panels and ensure feedback is produced for all applications. Produce grant award letters and make sure all requirements of the committee are met. In addition you will deal with telephone enquires requests for information and progress reports.

You will have extensive administration experience and ideally be educated to degree standard and have a good working knowledge of current IT packages. You will need to be well organised and have previous experience of minute taking as well as organising meetings. It would be desirable but not essential to have some knowledge of the medical profession and/or scientific and medical research practices.

The organisation offers a generous salary between £16,750 and £19,000 with an excellent benefits package including health care, pension and a 35 hour working week. The position is based at their modern head office, located in Chesterfield town centre, with excellent transport links by rail, bus and car. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity.
