Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer (Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement)

Our client is the world's leading specialist in the manufacture of wire and rope solutions for the most demanding applications.
They are currently seeking a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to join their team based in Doncaster. The main purpose of this exciting role is to ensure that all suppliers are operating in line with corporate standards and requirements. Your main responsibilities will include conducting site assessments, conducting product and process audits identifying areas for improvement and facilitating cost reduction activities within the supply base. You will also recommend and drive corrective actions within the supply base, identify risk areas associated with news and existing supplier operations and evaluate and resolve cost of poor quality issues.
The successful candidate will have worked in a similar role previously and will hold a HNC/D or equivalent in a technical or engineering discipline. You will ideally hold a recognised qualification in quality management and management systems and be lead practitioner qualified. You should have experience of working within a quality role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineer environment and you will be certified six sigma yellow or green belt. It is essential that you have extensive knowledge of quality management systems (ISO9001/QS9001) and principles including AQP and PPAP along with a good working knowledge of Total Quality Management, lean manufacturing principles and business improvement initiatives. You will be an excellent leader with business acumen and performance driven motivation along with excellent presentation, persuasion and interpersonal skills.
