Working within the South Yorkshire International Trade Centre (SYITC*), a partnership of Barnsley & Rotherham, Doncaster and Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, the Business Development Manager will support businesses to develop and grow their international trade activities by delivering a range of chargeable international trade services and contribute to other relevant initiatives to benefit companies throughout the South Yorkshire Chamber network and beyond.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an international environment and have extensive knowledge of international trade procedures.
To increase the client base of the Centre and ensure the success of a sustainable department the person appointed will be expected to take a proactive role in marketing and developing the portfolio of SYITC services and be actively involved in promotional activities including seminars, presentations, events and network forums.
A self-motivated individual with an ability to manage and achieve individual and team targets/deadlines in a customer-focused industry, you will need excellent communication skills (face-to-face, telephone and written), good networking and interpersonal skills, and an advanced level of IT literacy.
This position, based in Sheffield, is permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week). A full, clean UK (or equivalent) driving licence is required.
*The SYITC is a trading name of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
