    Sheffield Hallam University

    Faculty of Health and Wellbeing
Biosciences - Projects and Resources Team

The Faculty of Health and Wellbeing is seeking to appoint a Procurement Administrator working within the Biosciences area. This is a permanent post, offering the opportunity for a suitably qualified candidate to oversee and carry out procurement and manage the internal stores systems. The candidate will provide a service for customers by communicating with suppliers to trouble shoot ordering problems and organise returns.

This information will be relayed to researchers, technical staff & the finance department. The role also includes the ordering, receipting and timely distribution of incoming goods, stock audit and the day to day running of the stores area. There will be the opportunity to provide basic laboratory technical support to other members of the technical team.

Candidates require some experience of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook. Experience within a laboratory or procurement environment would be an advantage.

Candidates should be highly motivated with excellent communication skills and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A professional work ethic and working across team boundaries are essential to enable customer focussed results. The candidate should be confident and meticulous in their work, whilst being aware of time constraints and other often conflicting workload demands.

The person offered this post will be subject to a standard criminal records check by the Criminal Records Bureau. A criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from working at Sheffield Hallam University but its relevance to the duties of the post will need to be assessed before the appointment is confirmed.
