This vacancy is within the our clients Engineering / Technical team Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the person will be working in a small team of engineers. The duties to be completed are fairly varied but will include:-
•Support the design and development of tooling for both new and existing product ranges
•Control of process improvements, via either new plant and equipment, or existing equipment in close liaison with the Production Manager and Lean/CI Manager
•Support of remedial work and modifications of legacy drawings
•Assisting with plant layout and production line amendments and alterations
•Leading projects, integrating new production machinery, improving existing processes and changing processes and also acting as a team member of other improvement projects
•Any other aspects of engineering development which may from time to time be required
The Person
The ideal candidate will possess as many of the following attributes as possible :-
•Experience in a (Hot-) metal forming environment
•Experience of CNC or similar precision engineering techniques
•CAD literacy. Autodesk Inventor preferred otherwise strong 3d Autocad ability or experience on Solidworks, Solid Edge, Ideas etc
•CAM experience. Either Featurecam for drawing to machining transfer or Delcam for reverse engineering projects
•Excellent customer facing skills preferred
•Experience of die sets or other tooling beneficial
Whilst qualifications are not a pre-requisite for this position, the following combinations will be considered
•BSc (Process/Production/Mechanical) or equivalent ideally, or a minimum requirement of HND / HND in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering coupled with at least 5 years experience in industry.
•Apprentice Trained (3, 4 or 5 years) plus 3 years post completion experience.
Salary
A competitive package dependent on experience & skills according to experience including benefits. 33 days annual holiday of which 18 are fixed (Spring, Autumn and Christmas).
