Our client based in the centre of Doncaster is looking for an Induction Tutor to join their team, our client a successful business and market leader in global public service reform.
The main perpose of your role will be to co-ordinate and train a programme of Skills for Working Life including Induction ensuring the most effective approaches are implemented and moderated.
You will be responsible for a required number of learners in accordance with KPI’s, it is expected that a tutor will manage an average of 12-15 learners. You will need to deliver the appropriate number of qualifications in accordance with KPI’s, ensure the learner progression in accordance with KPI’s and ensure the learner retention is within company KPI’s.
Additional Responsibilities
• Create a climate conductive to the learning needs of the learners.
• Support and enable the learning process.
• Plan the assessment process with learners and employees, observe and record assessment, completing all relevant documentation.
• Review learners for the correct qualifications.
• Create appropriate schemes of work and lesson plans using relevant documentation.
• Review learner’s performance in accordance with contract guidelines.
• Maintain documentation to the required standards as per KPI’s.
• Undertake continuous professional development and maintain a current CPD file.
• Promote the company at every opportunity with learners, placements, careers, schools, funding bodies, awarding bodies and any other applicable external body.
• Feedback any business opportunities to the Business/Operations Manager.
• Manage own time effectively in order to complete workload and ensure deadlines are met.
• Plan, schedule and evaluate own work.
• Create, maintain and promote good working relationships.
• Monitor equal opportunities.
• Support colleagues in their personal development.
• As required, attend External Verification visits as per local requirement.
• Assist in the quality processes and standardization meetings.
• Any other reasonable duties that are required by your manager.
KPI’s
• Qualification of achievement rate to be at a minimum of 60%
• Achieve a minimum progression rate of 50% (non focused to level 1)
• 95% of learners are reviewed within correct timescales
• Learner retention rates;
75% retained at 2 week stage
60% retained at 8 week stage
50% retained at 12 week stage
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
• A good standard of general education GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
• Appropriate Teaching and Learning Qualifications (D32/3 or A1 Desirable)
• Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload.
• Well developed interpersonal skills
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Good customer contact skills
• Good oral and written skills.
• Knowledge of Work Based Learning provision
• Maturity to deal with people with challenging behavior
You will hold inductions of intakes up to 12 learners, this takes place once or twice per month and you will be responsible for welcoming new learners to the company by delivering the induction programme which includes sessions on Health and Safety, Job Search and Equal Opportunities. When not delivering induction, tutors work with learners to develop their personal skills and mentor them to achieve relevant qualifications.
You must be able to deal with challenging situations and adopt a firm but fair approach with your learners.
In reward for this you will receive a basic salary of £15,000 - £18,000 + benefits.
