Position: Logistics & Operations Supervisor
Department: Warehouse
Reports to: Distribution Centre Manager
Based at: Denaby warehouse
Purpose of the Job
To manage the outbound activities of the distribution centre and to provide support and resource to the Distribution Centre Manager and Operations Manager in the day to day management and activity of the warehouse. To manage projects identified by the management team.
Main Job Objectives
To manage the dispatch process and to improve the value for money and quality of service from each of our carriers..
To monitor the carriers performance and to investigate and resolve all service issues that arise and report actions to the relevant sales personnel.
To provide support to the Distribution Centre manager and Operations Manager in the day to day activities in the warehouse, operational and H&S.
To provide support and operational resource for maintaining and developing the IT and management systems in the warehouse.
To provide support in the management of security of the site
To manage the equipment, plant and site facilities, Repairs and maintenance. Maintaining records and identifying training requirements for operators. Develop and implement good working practice in the warehouse.
To manage projects identified by the Management Team across the business and to identify, prepare and implement actions resulting from these projects.
