Full Description:

A growing company within the IT security sector require an in-house software developer to continue the development of their ground breaking application which is based on Microsoft .Net and SQL Server. This is the world’s first enterprise level fingerprint system which is designed for the mass market.

Having successfully completed trials with a number of customers, there is the need to develop further this software for larger volume sales, to be sold through distribution channels.

You will be involved in Managing the Software Product Development through:

a. Project Management
b. Writing code for a web based Microsoft .Net/SQL Server application
c. Supporting customers on beta trials

Performance Targets will include:
a. reduce cost of installations
b. hits and leads generated by online marketing
c. completion of web redesign

The successful candidate will be a person of graduate quality with 5 years experience as a software developer. Ideally, technical skills should include:

• Extensive and recent Microsoft .net programming experience
• MS SQL Server database design and administration
• Writing secure and robust internet applications
• Project management skills
• User interface
• Experience with website development including
o HTLM and
o Java (basic experience)
• ITIL or other quality process

Personal qualities will include:

• Self-starter (capable of both managing a software application project and writing the code)
• “Completer/finisher” innovative enough to design software architecture but also not bored by the final, bug testing stage of development
• Ability to manage sub-contract programmers as project grows
• Enjoys working in a dynamic environment

Salary is negotiable up to £29,000pa depending on relevant experience. The company also offer a generous benefits package on top of the salary - including 25 days holiday per year, an employee share scheme, 5% pension contribution and a bonus programme.
