My client is a highly successful manufacturing company part of a major international group poised for further growth.
Reporting to the Financial Director your initial project will be the installation and development of a sophisticated standard costing system to facilitate better management information and play a key role in the future development of the company.
In addition you will be involved in analysis of all aspects of the business in particular sales, new product development proposals, gross margin, operational variances, and labour unit costs so as to understand product and customer profitability.
You must be able to communicate this information to the Management Team in a timely manner and drive appropriate actions. This is a forward thinking role with real opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the accounting function. Once the costing system has been implemented you will have either opportunity to move to a line accounting role.
Ideally you will be a Qualified Accountant or approaching qualification (CIMA, ACCA) with a real desire to progress and with strong knowledge of costing. In time there is ample opportunity to progress and broaden you role.
