JOB: General Manager (Continuous Casting Division) Location: Sheffield Salary: Negotiable + Benefits
My Client one of the world's leading engineering and plant building companies for the international metals industry. Who to date have completed more than 1300 major industrial projects in some 80 countries, are looking for a General Manager (Continuous Casting Division) to work from their Sheffield office.
Role
To lead, control, manage and co-ordinate the Continuous Casting Project Engineering team comprising all relevant engineering disciplines:
To provide technical leadership, guidance and support to the project engineering team.
To be responsible for the quality, timelines and budgetary control of the overall Project Engineering process.
To control and co-ordinate the allocation of resource, both internal and external, into the various project teams.
To ensure that departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs see later) are monitored and achieved.
To ensure that the levels of resourcing within the Department are sufficient to meet the needs of the current and future operations
To represent the project engineering team in departmental discussions / meetings.
To liaise with management team in both SVAI MT UK and in SVAI MT CC Linz
Education / Knowledge
Qualified to degree level, or equivalent
Chartered Engineer would be desirable.
Experience
Essential
Experience of Medium / Heavy Equipment engineering in charge of Project Engineering for medium / large project.
Special skills: -
Leadership capability.
Technical competence in one or more of mechanical / fluids or electrical / automation disciplines.
Organisational skills for planning, monitoring and controlling.
People management and motivational skills.
Excellent written, verbal and communication skills.
Must be highly motivated and enthusiastic and have the ability to work in a multi-national team and deal with colleagues, customers and suppliers worldwide.
Leadership ability and style which achieves consistently high levels of performance from team.
Experience, in an engineering capacity, of steel / similar process industry or equivalent industry.
Must be able to travel frequently and at short notice (required current driving licence and valid passport).
