Currently our Client is seeking to employ a Production and Purchasing Controller, whose task would be to manage the production planning process and purchasing of raw materials and to continually improve customer delivery performance. Responsibilities would include reducing lead-times and inventory levels by translating customer requirements into an achievable production schedule by managing all materials and machine / manpower capacity.
Duties:
· To produce a high quality product by maintaining quality throughout the manufacturing process at all times.
· Ensure customer delivery times are met. Being responsible for planning the shop floor workload to meet customer / contractual requirements at all times. Analyse weekly capacity, machinery and resource to produce production schedules.
· Manage the Production Control function and maintain the Production Control and Planning system in line with the required delivery schedule. Ensure direct costs are controlled at all times and remain in line with budget. Advise the General Manager and other personnel on BOM issues.
· Develop & maintain the Company’s purchasing function.
· Implement and manage process, procedures, review current stock management, planning and purchasing procedures

· Maintain a high level of customer service.
· Maintain G.M. in line with company requirements by controlling production hours / work recoveries.
Required skills
Experience with production planning & scheduling.
Knowledge of manufacturing in small batch, manual assembly and test environment.
Experience of lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
Experience of working within a short lead-time environment
Experienced in purchasing raw materials, supplier liaison, negotiating pricing.
Financially aware and be able to work within tight budgetary controls.
Excellent communicator at all levels.
Computer literate.
Team player.
The Company offers a competitive salary £26,000 – 30,000, dependent on experience.
