Lead Civil Engineer - Barnsley
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Lead Civil Engineer working in multidisciplinary teams carrying out civil design for water, wastewater, sewerage and environmental projects. The role includes the preparation of detailed designs for construction and also concept design where the detailed design is carried out by JV partners. The role also includes the development of designs for bids.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects ranging in size from £200k to £100m.
The successful applicant will have experience in the following areas:
Familiarity with water and wastewater processes.
Development of site layouts and general arrangement drawings.
Process pipework and drainage design.
Extensive experience in the undertaking of treatment works hydraulic design including process unit hydraulics, open channel flows and pipework systems.
Awareness of design requirements associated with large industrial buildings and structures associated with environmental projects would be an advantage.
Preparation and management of subcontracts.
Working knowledge of industry specifications and standards.
Relevant legislation for the construction industry including application of CDM regulations.
My client has a strong UK and European presence in both the water/wastewater and environmental sectors, offering turnkey projects either self-performed or in conjunction with selected partners on a formal Joint Venture basis.
